Dimitar Berbatov predicts result of West Ham United Premier League clash v Arsenal
Dimitar Berbatov has predicted the result of the Premier League clash between West Ham United and Arsenal at the London Stadium this weekend.
The Hammers suffered defeat at Old Trafford last time out, while the Gunners got themselves back into the title race with a 3-1 win over Liverpool in their last outing.
But speaking to Metro (9 February), Berbatov admitted the result depends on which version of West Ham turns up and has backed Arsenal to get the win in a tight game.
“Depending on which West Ham team turns up for the game, they can cause the opposition trouble or they can give the opposition space to score goals,” he said.
“The only thing Arsenal need to do is win because they’re waiting on Liverpool and Man City to make a mistake. This is why it’s good play after your rivals sometimes, so you know exactly what you need to do.
“They’re watching you on TV, you drop points and the whole team is like, ‘okay guys, now is the time to catch up to them’. It will be a tight game, but I’ll go for Arsenal. Prediction: 1-2.”
David Moyes and West Ham can’t afford another defeat to Arsenal
It wasn’t too long ago that the media was drooling over Moyes and the performances of the Hammers, with a new contract being spoken about to extend his time at the club beyond the current season.
But in recent times that admiration has dwindled and fans are being heard being unhappy once again, and the performances on the pitch simply haven’t been good enough.

This seems like the perfect game for Moyes to get back to winning ways though, because since the club beat Arsenal at the back end of 2023 it’s all gone downhill.
It’s no coincidence that this has coincided with Lucas Paqueta’s absence and he won’t be back any time soon unfortunately, but the club have the talent and the squad to cause anyone problems.
With the right game plan, a solid performance and the fans pushing the team over the line Arsenal will definitely have a tough day on their hands.
