‘Different planet’ – Troy Deeney takes swipe at West Ham hierarchy with stark Graham Potter admission
West Ham are assessing their options as Graham Potter’s time in East London looks to be coming to a close.
West Ham’s hierarchy appears to have differing opinions on a change in management, with David Sullivan being pushed to reappoint Slaven Bilic.
Supporters are growing frustrated by the lack of action being taken, and have turned to protesting against the owners after 18 months of failures.
Karren Brady and Sullivan appeared to have differing opinions when Graham Potter was appointed, and their differences again appear to be coming between them in the search for a new manager.

Graham Potter’s ‘days are numbered’ – Troy Deeney
Talk of Potter’s fragile future will no doubt affect the Hammers’ performance against Everton on Monday.
West Ham are set to assess Potter’s future during the October international break, but things could soon change should they face a heavy defeat against the Toffees.
Nuno Espirito Santos has been lined up by West Ham, but the Hammers appear to differ in their valuation of the Portuguese manager.
Supporters remain in the dark over the current managerial situation, and former Watford striker Troy Deeney has had his say on the situation.
Speaking to TalkSPORT [22 September], he said: “It just doesn’t feel right and I think Potter’s days are numbered. But I think it is now indicative of who West Ham are.
- Karren Brady is the vice chairman of West Ham
- The businesswoman joined the Hammers alongside Sullivan in 2010
- She was key to the move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016
“Who’s going to make the final decision? By all accounts, Brady wants to get Nuno in and Sullivan wants Bilic back.
“They’re not even on the same planet though, are they? They’re not going for the same type of manager. One’s going for nostalgia, one’s going for pragmatic.
“I think they could do a lot worse than going and getting Nuno. Also, I don’t even know if he wants to go back to work, but Sean Dyche would do pretty well at that place.”

What did Karren Brady say about West Ham’s summer business?
Brady was vocal in the summer as she defended the Hammers’ summer transfer window.
She claimed that the Irons had to sell to buy in order to build a strong Premier League squad, despite funds becoming available late on in the window.
In August, she said: “In an era when too many clubs have bought players without a clear plan, this year we are targeting signings who genuinely improve the team.”
This was despite the Hammers failing to add depth in key areas of the pitch and only signing four players by that time, with two of them free agents.
Brady’s comments will continue to frustrate fans, with protests against the ownership expected to ramp up in the coming weeks.
