'Different class' - Joe Cole heaps praise on West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen

Jarrow Bowen ‘deserves an England call up’ and is ‘different class’ according to former West Ham and England midfielder Joe Cole.

Bowen has scored eight goals this season and his brilliant form has seen him linked with a move to Liverpool [Liverpool Echo].

Joe Cole was speaking live on talkSPORT‘s Breakfast show when he was speaking about the Hammers winger and said that he reminds him of a former team-mate from his time at Upton Park.

“I love him,” he said. “I watched him play at Hull a few years ago when he was in the Championship in an FA Cup tie and your eye was drawn to him, he was all action.

“He reminds me a little bit of Trev [Sinclair], he can play wide and then can come in and nick a goal. He’s always a threat and has great technical ability.

“I think he’s different class. You see the way he’s improving, anything can happen. He well deserves an England call up and that would be another feather in the cap for him and also the club.

“David Moyes is bringing players out the Championship like he’s done for years, he did it at Everton, coaching them and giving them the opportunity and they are going on to become England internationals, hopefully.

“I think he’s a real talent, Bowen.”

Joe Cole is the latest big name pundit to join the bandwagon and call for Bowen to earn international recognition for England this season.

Darren Bent, Jack Wilshere, Lukasz Fabianski, David Moyes and others have all spoken about his form and ability, and believe he has an outside chance of making the World Cup squad at the end of 2022 for Qatar.

Bowen has been able to bring his dynamic game up a level this year, with a partnership alongside Michail Antonio carrying the Hammers to Champions League contention.

His dribbling, finishing and high-energy are trademarks of this West Ham side and he has become an indispensable member of the squad.

At just £18m two years ago, Bowen is justifying his price tag and looking more and more like a bargain every time he takes to the field.
