Dharmesh Sheth shares update on West Ham United deal for Pablo Fornals after ‘IT issues’

Pablo Fornals’ move from West Ham to Real Betis is now expected to go through as it stands, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports News reporter shared on his personal X account (2 February) that “IT issues” were understood to be the problem as to why a deal was not completed on transfer deadline day.

Real Betis were waiting to find out if the deal to sign had been finalised with both parties believing the correct documentation had been processed in time to complete the transfer.

However, the deal is now expected to go through in order for Fornals to seal his exit from the London Stadium.

Sheth wrote: “IT issues understood to be the problem… Fornals deal expected to go through – as it stands.”

Phew

It always seems so strange when clubs leave it so late in the transfer window to get a deal done when they’ve had an entire month to do business.

West Ham and Real Betis have been haggling over a transfer fee over the past few days and that’s what has prevented the deal from moving forward quicker.

And looked as if Fornals had been denied his dream return to Spain and with a case to argue that because West Ham could not sign any players on Deadline Day, they purposely sabotaged this deal to ensure Fornals remains.

It was strange seeing Fornals on the sidelines at the London Stadium against Bournemouth when he should really have been in Spain to complete his 11th-hour move.

However, as it stands, the West Ham player will now end his tenure in East London to rejoin the manager who signed him at the club in the first place in what will be an emotional departure for the Spaniard.
