Dharmesh Sheth shares if Filip Kostic makes decision as West Ham make £10m bid
Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Filip Kostic is reportedly still to make a decision over his future after West Ham make an offer to sign him.
According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, the Hammers have lodged an official £10million + add-ons offer for the 29-year-old.
With him being in the final year of his contract, a decision is impending with David Moyes keen on bringing in a left-back this summer.
Via Twitter, Sheth wrote, “Filip Kostic yet to decide if he wants to join West Ham United. West Ham bid of £10m + add-ons for the Eintracht Frankfurt player. Frankfurt are in the Champions League next season. Kostic has entered the final year of his contract.”
Waiting game
There’s nothing more that the Hammers can do right now apart from wait for the player’s decision over a move to the Premier League.
He will be getting Champions League football there, but the chances of them making it past the group stages are minimal.
They might even finish fourth and that will end his European journey for the entire campaign while he would actually have a chance of winning silverware at the London Stadium.
West Ham undoubtedly go into the Conference League next season as one of the favourites to win it and if they address a few more key areas, they’ll arguably be odds on to win the entire thing.
Kostic would also get to play Premier League football – a move that’s unlikely to come again in his career given his age.
David Moyes has already been left fuming by the club’s business recently and failure to sign Kostic is not likely to go down well with him.
