Declan Rice wants around £200,000-a-week as suitors circle

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has knocked back two contract offers from the club, alerting suitors in the process.

The Telegraph claim that the England international is expected to reject any more imminent attempts to hand him a contract extension, and would wait to see whether Manchester United or Chelsea firm up their interest in him with an official offer.

Euro Sport are now reporting that Rice’s personal terms are not cheap as he would be looking for around £200,000-a-week, plus signing-on fees from suitors, with Stamford Bridge thought to be a more likely destination.

Huge but deserved

Javier Hernandez earned around £140,000-a-week [Football.London] while at West Ham, and Rice definitely deserves more.

He is not earning up to that right now from the look of things, and we believe he clearly deserves £200,000-a-week.

According to The Telegraph, he is currently outside the top five earners at the London Stadium and is one of the lowest earners in the England squad.

Given how crucial he has been to us over the last two seasons, there is no doubt that the club have underpaid him.

West Ham

It remains to be seen whether West Ham would be willing to meet his demands, but that is unlikely, and Rice may have already made up his mind over an exit.

The Red Devils and the Blues would not hesitate to pay him what he deserves while giving him the chance to compete for the major honours in club football.

We are unable to match his personal demands and his ambitions, and it is definitely going to be extremely hard to hold on to our most prized assets if nothing changes going forward.
