Declan Rice unhappy with West Ham due to £100m price tag
Declan Rice is unhappy that West Ham United are valuing him at £100million and effectively pricing him out of a move, according to The Telegraph.
The England international, 22, has admirers in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Chelsea both keen.
However, both have been put off by the Hammers’ asking price for Rice, and the midfielder is not pleased with the club’s decision which has ended his chances of leaving the London Stadium this summer.
Blow
The Hammers ace has every right to feel aggrieved, and we do not see him penning an extension from the look of things.
He has already rejected two offers from the club and after seeing Tottenham Hotspur refuse to sell Harry Kane as a result of a long contract, Rice will be wary of making a similar mistake that can potentially jeopardise his future.
While he is definitely going to keep giving his best for us, playing Champions League football and winning major silverware remains his ultimate ambitions.
West Ham are not capable of giving him any of that right now, and the fact we are yet to make any outfield signing – the only Premier League side yet to do so this summer – would not have convinced him to commit his future to the club.
He has three more years left on his current contract, with the option of another year, and the club could be forced to sell him next summer if it becomes clear he wants out.
Suitors are clearly not ready to part with £100million for his signature, and that is not likely to change anytime soon.
