Declan Rice transfer news as Bayern Munich ‘can afford’ West Ham United ace – Sky Sports journalist

Bayern Munich “can afford” to sign West Ham ace Declan Rice this summer, according to Sky Germany reporter Uli Kohler.

The German giants need to look at their accounts “very closely,” and would like to sign Rice for less than €100million (£86million).

Rice seems destined to leave East London this summer, but his destination remains unclear.

“Bayern could afford it,” said Kohler, according to Sky Sports. “They would like to keep it below €100m.

“They have to look at their accounts very closely but I think they can afford it.”

Bayern chasing Rice

Despite lifting yet another Bundesliga title, Bayern Munich are set for a rebuild this summer, and one of the first players in the door could be Hammers star Rice.

And their reported interest in the midfielder is unsurprising given his displays for club and country in recent years.

Rice is definitely deserving of the step up to a top club that is constantly challenging for silverware, both domestically and in Europe.

While they will be gutted, the time has come for West Ham supporters to say their farewells to their beloved captain, but only after the club’s final match of the season in the Europa Conference League final.

Lifting the trophy would be the perfect way for Rice to leave the club that he has given so much to over the years, although he will be fully aware of just how difficult that will be due to their talented opponents Fiorentina.

It remains to be seen where Rice ends up, but his new club will definitely be getting a top player for many seasons to come.
