Declan Rice reacts as VAR misses foul on Nikola Vlasic in West Ham v Norwich
Declan Rice has taken to his personal Twitter account to react after seeing a clip of Tim Krul fouling West Ham attacker Nikola Vlasic last night.
The Hammers ran out 2-0 winners against Norwich City at the London Stadium on Wednesday (12 January), but their goalkeeper brought down the Croatian cynically inside the box, and VAR completely ignored it despite the fact that serious foul play was potentially involved.
Rice could not believe his eyes, asking why the Video-Assisted Referee did not intervene before deleting the post.
The West Ham ace said: “How was this not checked by VAR?”
West Ham should have been awarded a penalty and Krul should have been sent off after that incident, but it appeared VAR was having an off day.
Rice could not fathom why it was not checked, and he had to quickly take off his post in order not to get into disciplinary hot water.
Nevertheless, it is good to see him speaking his mind about such issues regularly.
The Hammers midfielder also slammed UEFA back in November after they banned the sale of tickets to West Ham fans for their Europa League trip to Rapid Vienna and fined the club, and he also deleted the post afterwards.
While no one can use that against him as the deleted posts cannot be used as pieces of evidence, that Rice never hesitates to speak his mind speaks volumes.
It pains any player whenever their club is cheated, and he is not different.
West Ham have had a couple of calls go against them in 2021-22, and most of them are laughable as much more is expected from officials that have technology supporting them on the job.
In other West Ham news, an amazing attacker is making personal arrangements for Hammers switch in January.
