Declan Rice might yet re-emerge as a genuine focus for Man Utd next summer
West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is still on Manchester United’s radar and might yet re-emerge as a genuine focus of next summer, according to Eurosport.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was shown the exit door at Old Trafford last week, but that has changed very little as the club retain an interest in the England international, 22.
Rice has been one of the best players this season, and while the transfer plans of Man Utd’s next boss are unknown, it appears he is still a wanted man at the Theatre of Dreams.
Mauricio Pochettino has been widely tipped to succeed Solskjaer, and it would not be surprising if the Argentine, or whoever takes over, comes after the West Ham ace.
He has been one of the best players in the division so far this term, and it is only normal for any manager to want such a player in his ranks.
The Hammers will be facing a fierce battle to hold on to Rice, and securing Champions League football for next season could give them a huge chance of holding on to him.
They have insisted he is not for sale, even for £100million, but a side like Man Utd will be ready to back their new boss and go all out for his signature no matter the fee the Irons want for him.
The midfielder will most likely have the final say on his future, and if the London Stadium outfit can show that they can match his lofty ambitions, he could very much be open to remaining beyond next summer.
