David Sullivan’s stance on Graham Potter sack revealed as huge West Ham friction emerges
Graham Potter is under major pressure at West Ham already this season.
After just two games, the Hammers are rock bottom of the Premier League table, having lost 3-0 to Sunderland and 5-1 to Chelsea.
Potter’s record is currently the worst ever of any West Ham manager in Premier League history and heavy defeats to a newly-promoted side and at home against London rivals are only going to make his problems worse.
As a result, Potter’s future at the London Stadium is being scrutinised with many fans calling on David Sullivan to make a call on the former Chelsea boss before the summer transfer window closes on Monday 1 September.

Sullivan, however, has decided against sacking Potter just yet.
Even though West Ham’s defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea were a humiliating start to the new campaign, it has been reported that Potter has his reasons for the poor form.
According to talkSPORT on Sunday, the Irons boss “believes he is being hamstrung by previous poor recruitment”.
PSR restrictions mean that West Ham’s transfer business has been limited this summer, while talkSPORT also claims that Potter didn’t want to sell Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham.

Sullivan has been known to show patience with his managers and only really likes to make changes during the off-season.
He bucked that trend last season by sacking Julen Lopetegui in January, but it doesn’t seem as though he’ll be axing Potter just two league games into the 2025/26 campaign even though he is “concerned” by the ex-Brighton manager’s record at the London Stadium.

Karren Brady also shares thoughts on under-fire West Ham manager
Sullivan’s stayed fairly quiet in recent years.
However, vice-chair Karren Brady has been on the radio recently talking all things West Ham. In fact, Brady even took to talkSPORT to hit out at Kudus’ performances after he was sold to Tottenham.
She’s now been quoted by talkSPORT as bigging up Potter, despite his poor start to the new season.
Speaking after the loss to Sunderland earlier this month, Brady said: “Graham is a forward-thinking manager. He’s sort of calm under pressure. He’s very detailed in his approach. He’s a great man, manager of players.
“He builds a special relationship with players, and they understand where he’s coming from.
“He has a modern mindset, and all of those things mean it does take some time to put a team together, to get the team playing the way that you want.
“West Ham is not a club that panics about its managers. We tend to stick with them, tend to support people, stick with them and see it through.
“I really hope he does well. He’s a pleasure to work with. He’s incredibly professional. I know the players respect him.”
Whether or not Brady still thinks that after the 5-1 hammering at the hands of Chelsea remains to be seen.
