David Sullivan could sack Julen Lopetegui within days at West Ham United
David Sullivan could reluctantly sack Julen Lopetegui if West Ham fail to win against Everton, according to TBR Football.
The news outlet reported [6 November] that it was Sullivan who hand-picked the Spaniard to succeed David Moyes at the club.
The London Stadium will host the Toffees on 9 November in the Premier League, and it could be Lopetegui’s final match in charge ahead of the last international break of the year.
Julen Lopetegui not the right man for West Ham
Lopetegui has proven in his short stint at West Ham that he’s not the right man for the managerial post after some poor results.
The Spaniard has looked lost in the Hammers’ dugout, and while the win over Manchester United on 27 October was a sight for sore eyes, the inconsistency was on display as Nottingham Forest convincingly beat the Irons.
It isn’t surprising that Sullivan could pull the plug if Lopetegui fails to get the three points at home against an Everton side who recently lost to Southampton.
There have already been reports that Maurizio Sarri could be a potential replacement for Lopetegui at the Irons [CalcioMercatoWeb, 6 November].

West Ham need someone to bring stability, and the squad they boast is still good enough to challenge for a European spot between now and May in the Premier League.
The London Stadium faithful have seen enough of the former Spain manager after the 3-0 loss to Forest, so his dismissal now feels inevitable.
In other West Ham news, another figure at the club is under increasing pressure amid the on-field struggles.
