David Sullivan buys football ‘haunt’ away from West Ham United
West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has purchased a restaurant in the “heart of Manchester’s football land”, according to Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported via their website on 19 January that Dunham Massey Investments, a firm that Sullivan is involved in, has bought Riva, which is described as a “haunt” of players and managers from both of Manchester’s big clubs.
Sullivan is a “person with significant control” at the Hale-based establishment, which has hosted Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Maguire among others, now, as per Companies House.
David Sullivan buys restaurant as Graham Potter awaits first signing at West Ham
Meanwhile, Graham Potter’s wait for his first signing as the West Ham head coach continues despite 19 days of the winter transfer window already being over.
Signing a new centre-forward remains a priority for the Irons after they failed to register a single shot on target in their 2-0 loss against Crystal Palace on Saturday, 18 January.
Potter may also want a new centre-back after testing a back-three at the London Stadium at the weekend.
Konstantinos Mavropanos getting sent off in the game could increase the need further.
There is no need for panic yet as the window runs until 3 February, but the Hammers need to act quickly if they want to bolster their ranks for the second half of the season.

The East London outfit are not under immediate threat of falling into the relegation zone as they are separated by 18th-placed Ipswich Town by 10 points with 16 games left to play.
In other West Ham news, this Irons ace has been spotted in the kit of another team as he finalises his London Stadium exit.
