David Moyes warns West Ham owners ahead of summer transfer window
David Moyes has urged the West Ham owners to add to the squad in the summer to maintain the high levels his side have shown this season.
Having failed to add to the squad in January, the Scot has piled the pressure on the Hammers chiefs to add to their ranks in the summer.
Moyes has outlined his ambitions to lead the Irons into a new era, setting “ferocious” targets for the club.

“I need to keep adding good players, which is part of the club’s responsibility to keep with it,” Moyes told Alan Shearer for The Athletic.
“We’ve got to be careful and not think, ‘This is it. We’ve gone straight up and that’s where we’re staying’. It’s going to take a lot of work even to stay where we are because the quality in the Premier League at the moment is through the roof.
“I use this continuously where I talk about the ‘new’ West Ham. I want the West Ham support to be as ferocious as ever and I want the crowds in the East End of London to come and watch us.
“We also need to build a new club here for the future and a new club here for moving forward, a club which can challenge at the top of the league, a club which has got a great stadium, a club which is going to try to bring in young players and encourage young players to get into the first team.”
Respect
Fair play to Moyes here. He isn’t shying away from the Hammers owners, telling them exactly what he needs.

The Scot knows this season could have been a lot more successful if the West Ham chiefs weren’t so tight in January and albeit very unlikely, he won’t let them make that mistake again.
That isn’t taking anything away from this season because regardless of how it finishes, it will still go down in history.
West Ham simply have to add quality to this squad to maintain the high standards set over the last couple of seasons. They need to be very careful with who they bring in because they are now at a level where only a select few players will come in and improve the team.
They can’t afford to get their transfers wrong and potentially ruin all of the progressive made by this group. A huge window awaits at the end of the season.
