David Moyes suggests Michail Antonio can get even better
David Moyes has suggested that West Ham striker Michail Antonio can play even better.
The Hammers will travel to Molineux to face Wolves in the Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the match, Moyes has singled out Antonio as one player he thinks can get more out from him despite his fantastic start to the season.
“I think he can play better and I think he has more to come and I hope his performances will step up again,” said Moyes, as quoted by Football London.
“His goals for Jamaica were great but I want goals for West Ham so I am looking for more goals for West Ham.”
Antonio has been simply outstanding this season.
He has managed six goals and three assists in the Premier League so far. The Jamaican has also bagged a goal and an assist in the Europa League as well.
His impressive form has earned him rich praise from players, fans and pundits, with Anton Ferdinand recently hailing him as “fantastic.”
During the recently concluded World Cup qualifiers, Antonio scored two outstanding goals for his country. Moyes wants him to replicate those for the club as well.
After the match, David Sullivan arranged a private jet to being Antonio quickly to West Ham, so that he can rest properly and prepare for the game against Wolves.
We desperately need to buy a striker in January. Antonio is the club’s lone striker while Moyes has used Jarrod Bowen in that position in his absence.
The Hammers boss, so far, has used him wisely, but the club cannot afford to take this gamble for the rest of the season.
We’re third in the league at the moment, just above Liverpool and on the same points as Manchester City.
