David Moyes shares West Ham United team news update ahead of clash v Fulham

David Moyes has shared an update on West Ham United’s injury situation ahead of the Hammers’ Premier League clash against Fulham.

West Ham travel to Craven Cottage on Saturday (8 April) in desperate need of a victory and are facing a Fulham side who have lost their last three games.

Moyes has been speaking ahead of the trip to West London and has delivered an update on the fitness of his squad.

“We’ll know more today once we’ve seen the players train,” said Moyes (West Ham’s official website, 7 April).

“We had a recovery session yesterday and we’ll get the players together today.”

Ugly

Things are going to turn very ugly if West Ham are beaten again on Saturday. Moyes is on a tightrope and failure to win against a team which has lost its last three matches would be the straw to break the camel’s back. West Ham desperately need results and, at present, it’s clear the Scot isn’t getting the best tune of the players.

Even if the Hammers do win against Fulham, it’s unlikely it will be a free-flowing and impressive performance. They’re likely to set up defensively, invite pressure and potentially steal something on the counterattack. It’s abundantly clear that Moyes’ time as the club’s manager should come to an end but a replacement could well be hard to find.

Who would really want to come in and take the job until the end of the season? The West Ham job would be an attractive proposition during the summer window if they are still a Premier League side. It’s clear the board are trying to limp through to the end of the campaign and then reassess the situation.
