David Moyes shares update on West Ham man Aaron Cresswell

David Moyes has revealed that Aaron Cresswell has a chance of making the West Ham game on Sunday.

The Hammers travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in the Premier League, and it appears as if the 31-year-old could play.

The former Ipswich Town man missed the Chelsea game last weekend due to an injury, but it looks as if he has made some progress and could be involved.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference [Evening Standard], Moyes said: “Cress is doing much better; it will be touch and go if he makes it or not.

“We’ve seen him out and about a little bit, and he’s doing a bit more, feeling a bit more mobile than he has been. It would be important if we could get him back, it would help us a lot. We’ll give him every opportunity to try and make it.”

Potential good news for the Irons.

In Cresswell’s absence, Ben Johnson has filled in, but given that he is more inclined to use his right foot, the Irons have lost a bit of width.

They have also lost Cresswell’s superb set-piece delivery, which has caused carnage now for many seasons.

Therefore, the quicker he is back, the better, really.

The Irons managed to win last weekend without Cresswell, but he is still a crucial player, and when he is fit, he more than often plays some role for the Irons.

The 31-year-old sounds like he has a chance of making the match, but if there is even a slight chance of making his injury worse, we would hope that the Hammers wouldn’t even risk him.

There is no need to take that risk when Moyes has the likes of Johnson and Arthur Masuaku, who can fill in at left-back in Cresswell’s absence.

So, it will be interesting to see if he plays on Sunday or if Moyes leaves him for a little bit longer.
