David Moyes shares ‘unfortunate’ Pablo Fornals update ahead of West Ham v Liverpool
West Ham manager David Moyes has revealed that Pablo Fornals has been “unfortunate” with his lack of minutes this season.
The winger was a regular at the beginning of the campaign but has seen his time on the pitch rapidly decline in recent months.
He scored his fifth goal of the season in the 4-0 league win against Bournemouth on Sunday (23 April), appearing as a substitute.

“Pablo has been someone who has done a great job for us over the past few years and he’s been unfortunate not to find himself in the team more often,” said Moyes, as quoted by the official West Ham website.
Big role to play
Fornals was heavily involved in the opening stages of what has been a tricky Premier League campaign for West Ham, with the winger a regular feature in the team for the first few months of the season.
He was at this time perceived as more valuable in the league than in the club’s Europa Conference League campaign.
But those have roles reversed as the season has gone on, with the attacker largely limited to substitute appearances as Moyes has favoured the likes of Said Benrahma and Lucas Paqueta in the league.
The arrival of the Brazilian has definitely had an impact on Fornals’s playing time, but the Spaniard will still have a key role to play in the months to come.

Moyes will need his entire squad fit and ready to play their part, and Fornals did just that with his superb goal against the Cherries.
At 27, he may seek a regular spot elsewhere come summer, but for now he must remain focused on helping his club stay in the league and lift the Europa Conference League trophy at the same time.
Both opportunities are very much possible amid the club’s superb run of form of late.
