David Moyes shares January update, offers no ‘guarantee’ over fresh faces at West Ham

David Moyes has been unable to guarantee that West Ham United will make another signing in the January transfer window.

The Hammers boss admitted he would love to see a couple of new signings arrive at the London Stadium, but was less convincing in his response.

Moyes shared that his squad is short on options and that they’re crying out for fresh legs to help them in the second half of the season.

West Ham

Speaking to BT Sport after the crushing 4-1 defeat against Leicester on Wednesday, Moyes made it clear he is hopeful.

“I’d like to,” he said.

“I’m going to be positive and say that hopefully, we can get something done. But, you know, we do need players, we’re short.

“We need some more energy, we need some fresh legs as well. If we can get it, we will do, but I can’t guarantee that.”

West Ham

West Ham have only been able to bring in one player this month, Darren Randolph from Middlesbrough. Roberto has gone the other way, leaving on loan to Alaves.

Moyes’ update on Wednesday will not fill Hammers’ fans with any confidence, and it would be classed as a disastrous window if they were unable to bring in any fresh outfield faces.

Sky Sports reported that Dimitri Payet is not an option this month, but that West Ham have been offered Nantes midfielder, Abdoulaye Toure.
