David Moyes shares fitness update on Michail Antonio ahead of West Ham v West Brom

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio should be ready to start the Premier League clash against West Brom on Tuesday evening.

Antonio has suffered from hamstring problems throughout his career and has been brought back too quickly this season already.

The 30-year-old scored against Burnley on his return on Saturday, and also unexpectedly completed the 90 minutes at the London Stadium.

David Moyes confirmed the fitness update in his press conference on Monday, claiming he will be ready to face the Baggies.

“I think if anything Mich’s managed himself within the games really well. He’s doing well but I know there’s another couple of gears for him to go up to in the game,” he said.
“He’s an important part of the team, you can see that from his goal on Saturday, so we’ve got to be careful with him. We’ll get him ready for the game. I think it’s a really quick set of games for lots of clubs.”

Antonio was superb against Burnley.
It was vital that he recovered in time for the West Brom clash tomorrow, with the Irons having no other senior options available to them after the sale of Sebastien Haller.
The Athletic have reported that the Hammers have had an offer rejected for Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri, something which could develop before the FA Cup tie against Doncaster.
Should Antonio get through the game with West Brom, hopefully, there will be another striker through the door at the London Stadium to rest him against the League One side.
