David Moyes sack update at West Ham United ahead of Everton clash
David Moyes faces the “real possibility” of being sacked as West Ham United manager before taking on relegation rivals Everton in the Premier League on Saturday (21 January), according to the Daily Mail.
The Hammers stretched their winless run in the league to seven games with a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Wolves and subsequently fell into the relegation zone alongside the Toffees.
The Daily Mail believes the pressure on Moyes is now almost at boiling point, and the Scot could, as a result, be relieved of his duties before the must-win game against Frank Lampard’s side.

The report said: “El Sackico. Dismissal Derby. Call this Saturday’s London Stadium showdown whatever you want.
“For David Moyes and Frank Lampard, West Ham v Everton means more than whatever silly tagline we could conjure up. It is set to be a match which decides their managerial fate.
“The disclaimer is this depends on Moyes and Lampard not being sacked before then, a real possibility after their dismal Saturdays which only dragged both closer to the drop and chop.”

Dire
It wasn’t just the loss to Wolves that would have disappointed fans so greatly, but more the uninspired performance and lack of ideas the team played with.
There was simply no creativity on show from the Hammers, despite the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals all starting. Their lack of clinical edge saw the Scots team only find the target with four of their 16 shots on goal.
The loss to Julen Lopetegui’s side saw Wolves leapfrog them in the league table, and they now only remain off the bottom of the league table on goal difference.
All season long, fans and pundits alike have shared the view that West Ham have too much quality to get embroiled in a relegation dogfight, but the time has now come to face realities.
West Ham United simply aren’t performing well enough, and the manager has to take the brunt of the blame.
