David Moyes sack update after West Ham United win v Fulham – Sky Sports

Not only did West Ham secure three precious points in their win over Fulham but the result will provide a sigh of relief for David Moyes who needed the victory to ease pressure over his position at the London Stadium.

As reported by Sky Sports, the pressure has eased on the Scotsman thanks to the win at Craven Cottage and in truth, it was the only acceptable outcome for the Hammers following the calamitous home loss to Newcastle on Wednesday.

Moyes, by his own admission, knew the importance of getting back to winning ways immediately and that is exactly what happened with the only goal of the came coming in the first half on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a first half own goal from Harrison Reed.

West Ham

The former Everton and Preston boss is no stranger to adversity in the game, with his vast experience equipping him well for the current strife in east London but the bottom line is that the Premier League is a results driven business, time waits for no manager.

He will be well aware of exactly what is required and for now, that is to keep picking up points toward safety. Nothing else.

West Ham is currently in 13th place in the table, just three points ahead of Nottingham Forest in 18th with eight games of the campaign remaining. A nine club dogfight is set to go to the wire in the battle to avoid relegation.

As well as fighting on that front, the Europa Conference League presents something of a predicament. It could be considered as something of a distraction from the main objective, but it is also a realistic shot at glory on the continent and to go at least one better than last season’s run to the semi final in the Europa League.

A short journey to Belgium in midweek will see the Hammers take on Gent in the last eight of the ECL.

Next up in the Premier League is the visit of Arsenal on 16 April, ahead of the trip to face Bournemouth on 23 April then Liverpool come to London three days later. The games keep on coming, as does the scrutiny on the manager who will need to secure points despite the difficulty posed from that trio of fixtures.

David Moyes lives to fight another day.
