David Moyes sack decision update emerges ahead of West Ham United v Nottingham Forest

David Moyes is under tremendous pressure to keep hold of his job at West Ham despite the 1-0 win v Olympiakos, according to Claret and Hugh.

The news website reported on 10 November that he will need a win on Sunday, 12 November, against Nottingham Forest to bury the sack talk for a bit.

Thus far, a decision to sack him has not been made or even reached an advanced stage.

The report reads, “The West Ham manager is under huge pressure, so he’ll be delighted to be top of the group. Moyes will need a win against Nottingham Forest to fully insulate himself from further demands for his sacking.”

On borrowed time

West Ham can’t get into this situation every season where they find themselves having to make decisions over Moyes’ future.

He’s taken the club as far as he could and it does not have to end badly for them to part ways with the Scotsman.

As his contract is expiring at the end of the season, the board can just tell him closer to April that they plan on parting ways.

Then they can go in for a big-name coach with a track record of playing good football and winning trophies, and back him in the transfer window.

Certainly, they have the money to tempt some of the coaches out of work or looking for a step up and Premier League exposure.

It remains to be seen what the board ends up doing as they’re not known to make the wisest of decisions in the past.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now frustrated with a £10m player as a behind-the-scenes revelation has emerged from the London Stadium.
