David Moyes sack decision claim at West Ham United shared by Dharmesh Sheth

Dharmesh Sheth believes that West Ham and David Moyes will be parting ways despite claims of a new contract being offered.

The Sky Sports journalist believes that the change in mood suggests that the decision is no longer just Moyes’ to make.

Julen Lopetegui appears to be the frontrunner to secure the job should the Scotsman leave at the end of the season.

Sheth told Give Me Sport on 3 May: “It’s all pointing towards the end for David Moyes come the end of the season. I think it will be painted in a way whereby he has been offered this contract, and he’s publicly said he’s been offered this contract, but now there’s a slight change of mood around West Ham United.

“Whenever he has been asked the question, he says this will be discussed and we’ll make a decision at the end of the season – it’s‘we’ll make a decision,’as opposed to‘I will make a decision’.”

West Ham must part ways with David Moyes

It’s crucial for the Hammers to make the decision regarding Moyes’ future without solely relying on his input.

The club’s performance and direction are determined by a variety of factors beyond the manager’s control, such as player acquisitions, injuries and overall team dynamics.

The board should be assessing these factors objectively and considering whether Moyes is the best fit moving forward.

This approach allows the club to consider not only Moyes’ past achievements but also potential new directions that could be beneficial for the club’s long-term success.

Additionally, West Ham’s recent performance and the mood around the club suggest that a change might be necessary.

While Moyes has had notable successes, including ending the club’s trophy drought, the recent downturn in form and the potential availability of other managers could prompt the board to consider alternatives.

West Ham manager David Moyes
David Moyes will manage West Ham United for the final time against Manchester City on May 19.

Since his current deal is set to expire, the club would not have to pay compensation for terminating his contract, allowing them to invest in a new manager without incurring additional costs.
