David Moyes praises Alex Kral amid recent West Ham transfer speculation
In his column in The Sunday Times, David Moyes has praised Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral amid links with a summer move to West Ham United.
The West Ham manager can enjoy the summer off after a successful campaign where he guided his side to sixth.
However, despite taking time off the training pitch, Moyes will have an eye on the market as he’ll be looking to bring in certain names in the transfer window.
One name that’s constantly being linked and is reportedly close to joining the club is that of Alex Kral. Per ExWHUEmployee, he’s also agreed to personal terms with West Ham, and the only thing left is for the two clubs to agree on a fee.
Now, Moyes has further fuelled this speculation by including Kral in his ‘Magnificent seven players you should keep an eye on this summer’ category.
Describing the Czech midfielder, he wrote, “Kral, who has just turned 23, is a young midfielder, developed at Slavia Prague, who moved to Spartak Moscow.
“He is likely to start in the Czech midfield alongside Tomas Soucek and is similar in stature to Tomas, though plays in a slightly different style.
“He is good on the ball and looks to protect his defence and appears to have, like Tomas and (fellow Czech West Ham star) Vladimir Coufal, great mentality and bags of energy.”
Already in his good books
It’s no coincidence that one of Moyes’ seven players to watch out for is one he’s keen on bringing to the London Stadium this summer.
The upcoming Euros will be the perfect opportunity for Kral to prove himself at the big stage, and he will certainly come to the club with huge expectations.
Where he fits in will be interesting. If we sign Jesse Lingard and keep hold of Declan Rice, there’s a good chance Kral and Soucek play with the two of them in a midfield diamond.
Alternatively, Lingard could be tried out wide in a 4-3-3 or even in a 4-2-3-1 with one of Kral or Soucek deputised in the number 10 position.
We’re fascinated to catch a glimpse of Kral at the Euros, and are hoping that the club get this deal done as soon as possible.
