David Moyes makes new Tim Steidten admission amid West Ham United ban speculation

West Ham United manager David Moyes has admitted he and his team “don’t want any distractions” following new developments around Tim Steidten.

Reports emerged that the Hammers technical director had been banned from the first-team dressing room at the London Stadium and training ground as speculation continues around Moyes’ future beyond the end of the season [Daily Mail, 2 May].

The Irons have already been linked with a string of potential managers despite no official announcement regarding Moyes’ future. When asked about the reports, the Scotsman insisted both parties were focused on their jobs.

As quoted by Malik Ouzia on X (3 May) he said: “We don’t want any distractions, we keep our eye on the ball. Tim’s got his job to do, I’ve got my job to do. There’s only three games to play.

“We’re just going about our jobs.”

Will West Ham United and Tim Steidten sack David Moyes at the London Stadium?

It is clear from Moyes’ comments in his press conference that some action must have been taken over Steiden as the Hammers boss doesn’t appear to have refuted the suggestion that the German has been banned from some areas.

Whether or not that is at the request of the West Ham manager remains to be seen, but it doesn’t appear as though Moyes is concerning himself with Steidten’s actions, with his focus entirely on the remainder of the season.

It is becoming increasingly likely that the 61-year-old will depart the London Stadium at the end of the season, but it could be viewed as an act of disrespect that talks are already being held with successors before an official announcement is made.

Hopefully, Moyes and the rest of the first-team squad in East London will be able to put these distractions to one side for the remainder of the campaign. A strong end to the season would boost the mood of everyone involved in the Hammers.
