David Moyes has no interest in West Ham United signing Gabriel Barbosa in January - report

David Moyes has no interest in West Ham United signing Flamengo goal machine Gabriel Barbosa this month, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported in their print edition (14 January) that Moyes has made his final decision this month.

The Hammers have been consistently linked with the Brazilian, although it looks as though no movement will be made for that move.

Links have even gone as far as to suggest that talks are in place with Flamengo to consider a move in the next two weeks.

Dharmesh Sheth has reported that Barbosa wants a move to England with a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad up for grabs.

Gabigol is also looking for the chance to prove himself in Europe once again after failing to do just that with Inter Milan.

Looking elsewhere?

GSB and Daniel Kretinsky will have money available for Moyes to spend, but it looks as though that won’t be happening quickly.

The Scotsman is doing a brilliant job, but it only takes a handful of injuries to happen once again for that form to go out of the window.

What happens in Michail Antonio is ruled out for a considerable amount of time, and Jarrod Bowen suffers the same fate? It would be near impossible to continue this form.

We’re at the halfway stage of this window already, and with no real movement elsewhere, Moyes may need to stop being so picky.

Rob Newman has been brought in to help with transfers, and it is starting to look more likely that he will go through his first window without making any signings – that can’t happen.
