David Moyes could face West Ham sack if they lose crunch clash to Everton
David Moyes faces the sack if West Ham lose their crucial Premier League clash with fellow strugglers Everton on Saturday, according to reports in The Telegraph.
The Hammers have undergone a poor English top-flight campaign so far, currently sitting 18th in the table on 15 points after 19 games. Their defeat to Wolves last time out was their third defeat in four games dropping them into further trouble.
As a result, Moyes’ job at the helm has been called into serious question with several reports [90Min, 17 January] suggesting that the Hammers board are contemplating firing the former Everton and Manchester United manager.

And that has once again been reported by The Telegraph [18 January] revealing that the 59-year-old manager could well be out of a job if the Hammers lose their pivotal Premier League clash against fellow basement boys Everton this weekend.
However, the report does intriguingly go on to point out, that Moyes could immediately be installed as the favourite to succeed Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.
No surprise
It’s simply no surprise that Moyes could face the sack at the London Stadium.
The Hammers have indeed been dreadful so far this campaign, and that has further been compounded after the £160million spent last summer on players like Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta who have so far failed to live up to their respective hypes.

That’s definitely on Moyes. He was supposed to build on last year’s overachievement by steering the club into new territory challenging for a top-four spot possibly, as well as undergoing a major assault on the European front in the UEFA European Conference League.
While the latter seems likely following their qualification to the knockout stages, it is their Premier League exploits that are most important, and Moyes has failed on that front.
The club should not be in a relegation battle after 19 games. It is inconceivable both for the neutrals and the Hammers faithful. The Everton game this weekend cannot be more crucial, and it is one Moyes simply cannot afford to drop more points in.
His job and reputation is on the line.
