David Moyes was reportedly fuming at referee Andrew Madeley after Chelsea’s 2-1 win against West Ham on Saturday in the Premier League.
Maxwel Cornet saw his equaliser disallowed for what was deemed to be a foul on goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy.
However, replays showed that there was minute contact between the two and the Ivorian did nothing to impede the Blues number one.
Via Twitter, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook wrote, “David Moyes has just angrily confronted Andrew Madley in the referee’s room. Safe to say he is very, very unhappy about the decision to chalk off late #WHUFC equaliser. Lots of expletives.”
Not messing about
Moyes was clearly not a happy man after the events that unfolded in front of his eyes on Saturday.
Despite coming within inches of getting a positive result and putting the ball into the back of the net, they were robbed of a clear point.
This is unacceptable at the highest of the game and we cannot believe that we’re still talking about VAR costing teams games and points.
After a bad start to the season, the last thing they would’ve wanted was for a stupid decision like this to cost them a crucial point.
However, apart from that, there were still some flaws in the team and Moyes may look to chop and change things around sooner rather than later.
Cornet has clearly shown that he deserves to start ahead of Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals and we will really be surprised if we do not see him in the eleven against Fotbal Club FCSB in the Conference League and Newcastle over the weekend.
