David Moyes admits winning silverware is still possible at West Ham United, live on Sky Sports

David Moyes has admitted that winning a trophy at West Ham United remains on his to-do list despite the growing speculation surrounding his job, he told Sky Sports.

In an interview with Sky Sports prior to the Premier League match against Tottenham (Sunday 19 February), Moyes admitted that he still wants to bring some silverware back to the London Stadium as manager.

Talking on the topic of getting his side back on track, Moyes said: “I don’t think I’m quite there. I’m still fighting it, challenging it and thinking I wouldn’t mind a couple of trophies if I could before my time is up.

“And I need a good club to give me that chance, so I’m hoping I can do it here at West Ham.”

If Moyes is going to claim some silverware at the London Stadium, he won’t have many better chances than the Europa Conference League this season.

After becoming the first club in the competition’s history to win all six group games when they beat FCSB 3-0 before the World Cup break, West Ham remain well and truly in the hunt for European glory in the coming months.

The Hammers have glided through the competition to date – albeit against weaker opposition – but will need to be at their best to edge past the likes of Serie A outfit Fiorentina.

However, if West Ham were to get relegated this season, winning silverware wouldn’t particularly mean as much to the club. The number one priority must be drawing clear of the drop zone, and the rest should naturally follow suit.

The upcoming matches against Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Aston Villa will likely decide whether the club will be in a scrap all the way to the dying stages of the season or not.
