David Moyes admits West Ham frustration over Andriy Yarmolenko
David Moyes has admitted his frustration of losing West Ham United winger Andriy Yarmolenko for the clash against Sheffield United.
The Hammers forward has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week during the international break with Ukraine.
Yarmolenko has been forced into quarantine, although he should be back for the Premier League clash against Aston Villa the week after.
Moyes couldn’t hide his frustration and claimed that there isn’t an easy solution to stop the frequent international breaks.
“The answer would be yes but I have to say that with the fixture list, we knew it was there with the international break,” he said via Claret and Hugh.
“It has been very difficult with the testing situation, I don’t think there is an easy solution”
After three breaks already since September, thankfully, there isn’t another one until March, with three months of Premier League games to come.
Moyes will have a decision to make, with one of his players guaranteed to miss out.
The Irons have got through the international break with few problems compared to others, with one rotation option missing clearly not the worst.
Said Benrahma is set to be given a bigger role, and there could be a return to the squad for Mark Noble at Bramall Lane.
Should Michail Antonio and Angelo Ogbonna return from their injuries, the Irons will be one player (Yarmolenko) away from a full-strength squad going into the busiest period of the year.
