David Gold has praised West Ham fans after the Leeds win
David Gold has praised West Ham fans after the Irons beat Leeds United on Saturday afternoon to move up to 7th place.
Sending a message on his personal Twitter account, the West Ham co-owner revealed that he agreed with Angelo Ogbonna’s assessment of the Irons supporters after a late winner from Michail Antonio sealed all three points.
After the match at Elland Road, Ogbonna spoke to the club’s website and hailed the travelling Irons, and it seems as if Gold agrees with the centre-back as he posted a simple message.
“Agreed dg.”
Gold speaks out.
Now, we know just how unpopular Gold is with many Irons fans, but it is nice to see him publicly praising the Hammers fans who made the journey north to watch their side.

The replies aren’t actually that bad, and it seems as if some fans are perhaps slightly warming to Gold.
However, given the number of promises that the board have failed to fulfil, we can imagine that it will take a lot more than a few tweets praising the supporters to rebuild that trust [Hammers United].
Things do seem to be moving in the right direction now, though, and the Irons have a team that they can be excited about that will work to the very end to try and win.
It is nice to see that Gold decided to praise the Irons fans, and it will be intriguing to see if the relationship between the board and the fans can be healed over time.
