David Gold defends his West Ham mistakes in inspirational social media post
West Ham United co-owner David Gold has taken to social media to seemingly defend some of his mistakes while running the club.
The Hammers chief wished manager David Moyes well on Twitter yesterday after he penned a three-year deal at the weekend, but his post did not go down well with a fan who demanded the club sold.
The West Ham supporter saw the need to pass his message across with an accompanying insult, but another fan called ‘Woody‘ put him in his place.
Gold was apparently pleased that someone leapt to his defence, and took to his personal Twitter account to say: “A man that hasn’t made a mistake in his life most probably hasn’t made anything. dg Thank you Woody. dg’
Fair enough
We are not pleased with some of the decisions Gold, David Sullivan and Karen Brady have made since taking over of our club in January 2010, but we have to admit they have gotten some right of recent.
Bringing back Moyes has proven to be a masterstroke, with West Ham fans looking forward to European football next season.
Holding on to Declan Rice too is laudable, although fear of supporters’ backlash might have played a huge role in that decision.
GSB should do better this summer, though, and we are hoping Moyes can be strongly supported in the transfer market.
The Hammers squad could do with at least a striker, Jesse Lingard, another holding midfielder and centre-back ahead of the new season, and transfer funds have to be released.
We need to impress in the Europa League and launch a stronger top-four bid next term, but that cannot be possible without a strong squad.
Gold and co have made enough mistakes at West Ham already, and they cannot afford to make any this summer.
