David De Gea sends message to Aaron Wan-Bissaka after West Ham United win

Aaron Wan-Bissaka received a message from former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea after West Ham beat Newcastle United on Monday.

The 27-year-old netted his first goal for the Hammers since his £15million move from Old Trafford during the summer [BBC Sport], doubling the lead after Tomas Soucek’s opener on 25 November.

Having claimed all three points at St James’ Park, the Hammers moved six points clear of the relegation zone, and Wan-Bissaka was clearly feeling the love from his ex-teammates after the match.

Reacting to Wan-Bissaka’s Instagram post [26 November], De Gea and Anthony Martial both commented spider emojis while Crysencio Summerville wrote: “Spider. What a player.”

The full-back has quickly become a mainstay in Julen Lopetegui’s side since arriving at the London Stadium in the summer, and that faith has been fully rewarded.

While he has yet to register an assist in the Premier League this term, his attacking abilities have improved drastically since his days with Man United and that could be seen against the Magpies.

His performances have seen Vladimir Coufal drop to the bench despite making 163 appearances during his four years in East London, showcasing just how good of a signing he was.

Wan-Bissaka linked up perfectly down the right flank with captain Jarrod Bowen, who supplied the assist for the defender’s goal, sliding him in behind with a pin-point pass.

The 27-year-old full-back is never afraid of entering into a tackle, continues to put his body on the line and is quickly becoming a favourite figure amongst Hammers fans at the London Stadium.
