Danny Ings kicks equipment out of frustration in West Ham United training clip

Danny Ings was spotted kicking equipment out of frustration in the latest West Ham training session at Rush Green ahead of the return of the Premier League.

The striker, who joined the Hammers from Aston Villa in January, lashed out at a training dummy after missing the target during an attacking drill in training.

He has scored just two goals from his eight West Ham appearances, both of which came in the 4-0 victory against Nottingham Forest last month.

West Ham shared a video of their latest training session on Twitter, posting: “Gearing up for the return of Premier League football.”

Ings was one of several players involved in the training amid the international break, which has seen the likes of captain Declan Rice called up to the England team, with the skipper therefore absent from club training.

Given the quality of the squad, the Hammers shouldn’t even be in their current position, but being able to rely on a striker like Ings for goals is a massive boost.

Much like the issues he has been through at his various other clubs, injuries have disrupted the forward in his brief spell at West Ham, but he now looks raring to go in the fight for survival.

Ings boasts 70 Premier League goals and has made almost 200 appearances in the competition, with such experience set to be invaluable to David Moyes’s side in the coming months.

As long as Ings stays fit, the Hammers should have more than enough in the tank to avoid dropping down to the Championship, a thought that was so far off the minds of all West Ham supporters at the beginning of the campaign.

Fellow forwards Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca will also be keen to do their part, but Ings is undoubtedly the best finisher among the trio, with fans desperate to see the former England international recreate his form from his Burnley and Southampton days.
