Daniel Kretinsky intends to invest in the West Ham squad in January

Darren Lewis has claimed that the impending arrival of Daniel Kretinsky at West Ham should allow the club to spend in January.

Speaking on Sky Sports on Sunday [Hammers News], the Mirror reporter went into great detail discussing Kretinsky and the Hammers, and he also shared some insight into how the Czech will operate.

The deal for Kretinsky to acquire a 27% stake in the Irons is expected to be completed this week, and it seems as if there are exciting times ahead for the Irons [Sky Sports].

He said: “What it does, it provides the ability for West Ham to go into a transfer window where they are going to look at quality, rather than making up numbers, with a degree of confidence.

“He (Kretinsky) is a guy who is very canny with his investments; he’s got other business interests as well outside of football.

“He’s generated a lot of optimism within the West Ham fanbase because they’re feeling now that with a guy like that coming into play suddenly, they can start to think about the club matching David Moyes’s ambition.

“Now what the new investment enables them to do is go into a transfer window looking to attract – and they will be able to attract – the kind of quality player that will hopefully take the club to another level.”

Good news for the Irons.

This is a nice little assessment of Kretinsky, and it seems as if the club will be able to splash out in January and try and strengthen the squad.

The Hammers have had a sublime start to the season, and if they can further improve David Moyes’ squad, then there is no telling how far the Irons can go.

Kretinsky seems to be buying into the club at the right time, and it seems as if he knows what he is doing and knows how to operate.

West Ham

Remember, he already owns Sparta Prague, so he has plenty of experience at a football club.

After hearing Lewis’ comments, we would hope that many Irons fans are even more excited than they were before.

Now, we just have to wait for the deal to go through, and there could be some good news this week on that front that will please most Irons fans.

In other West Ham news, Jarrod Bowen could be set for a first international call-up.
