West Ham United look unlikely to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka this month, despite recent reports.

The agency that represents the striker, 12MANagement, have released a short statement on social media following the recent speculation about the striker’s future.

They state that the player ‘fully committed’ to Red Bull Salzburg and that they will not be commenting further for now.

The Express recently reported that West Ham had been offered the opportunity to sign the striker in a £25million deal.

One to watch for the summer

While a January move looks unlikely for Daka, he is certainly a player that the club should keep on their radar ahead of a potential summer swoop.

He is a striker in fine form this season, scoring nine goals in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg so far.

While he has been impressing domestically, Daka has also been shinning in the Champions League and according to Wyscout, he ranks inside the top 20 for the most shots per 90 minutes in the entire competition.

Dubbed ‘the next Samuel Eto’o’ in a recent BBC Sport report, there are high hopes for Daka in African, as he looks to emulate the likes of Erling Halaand and Sadio Mane who came before him at Salzburg.

After seeing the struggles of Sebastien Haller at the London Stadium, waiting until the summer to ensure that they get the rid striker on board may also be the smarter move from West Ham.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers must avoid repeating Haller mistakes if Milik is signed
