Crystal Palace have broken record ahead of West Ham United showdown in Premier League

West Ham are looking to stop the rot against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Graham Potter’s side capitulated against Tottenham last time out, as they lost 3-0 in their third defeat in four Premier League fixtures.

The Irons have the advantage of not playing in midweek, with West Ham losing 3-2 against Wolves in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

Palace won’t be as fresh as they host Millwall, but the Hammers still face an uphill battle to put the toxicity from the loss to Spurs behind them at the London Stadium.

Crystal Palace on a record ten-game unbeaten run

Potter is under increasing pressure at West Ham, and it feels like time is running out for the former Chelsea boss, with tough fixtures ahead.

There is plenty of disruption in East London, with West Ham fans also demanding that David Sullivan step down as chairman after a dismal summer.

Pressure will likely increase should they fail to stop Crystal Palace’s record-breaking form.

The Eagles are now ten games unbeaten in the Premier League, which is a new record for the South London side.

In that time, Oliver Glasner’s side have also managed to concede the fewest number of goals and keep the most clean sheets of any team in the top-flight.

Crystal Palace drew 0-0 last time out against Sunderland, but battered Aston Villa 3-0 in their previous game, in what has been a great start to the season.

Meanwhile, the Hammers boast the worst defensive record in the Premier League, having conceded 11, two more than pointless Wolves.

West Ham must improve in defence against Crystal Palace

West Ham’s shocking defensive record has been no secret.

The Hammers have now conceded six goals from corners this season, which is three more than any other club, and were bullied in defence against Spurs.

New signing Igor Julio could come into the side against Palace, but he isn’t going to solve all of their problems at the back.

The Brazilian is in the top one per cent in Europe for blocks, having made 160, just 38 fewer than Virgil Van Dijk, despite the Dutchman playing 275 games more than him.

Konstantinos Mavropanos and Max Kilman have both been poor so far this season, and something must change at the back if Potter is to save his job.
