Crysencio Summerville ready to ‘achieve great things’
Summerville had an underwhelming start to his Hammers career, with his season ending in January with a hamstring injury.
Speaking to the club website, he talked about how his period out was tough for him: “I think the last eight months have been about motivating myself every day. It’s challenging, but I have the right people in my environment, and they help me a lot, and I’m happy with my own mindset as well because I can guarantee you that some people would give up.”
He also added how much he’s looking forward to helping his teammates going forward, saying: “I’ve enjoyed being part of the squad again over the last couple of weeks and trained with a couple of the new players already, so I can’t wait to play with them more in the games and to achieve great things with them.”
Summerville was linked with a move away from West Ham in the summer but chose to stay and fight for his place.
Now he is back involved with the first team, his undoubted ability will surely be a major factor for West Ham this season.

Graham Potter will be happy with Crysencio Summerville developments
Hammers boss Potter will welcome these comments from Summerville, who can be a real asset from now on.
West Ham face Tottenham this weekend, and Potter has a lot to think about regarding his team selection.
Summerville may well start the Spurs game, following his blistering cameo against Forest, where he grabbed an assist.
- Summerville signed from Leeds last year for £25million.
- Played 19 Premier League games last season before injury.
- Provided an assist in 8 8-minute substitute appearance against Forest.
Potter will look to use Summerville as another attacking option to try to relieve some of the pressure on Jarrod Bowen.
The Dutchman can provide some real attacking spark, and he now appears to be back on the right track.
