Crysencio Summerville ‘big surprise’ predicted for summer after West Ham developments

Crysencio Summerville has spearheaded West Ham’s attacking success in recent games.

Nuno Espirito Santo watched West Ham lose 3-2 to Chelsea last time out in the Premier League, but his Dutch winger got himself on the scoresheet yet again.

Summerville has established himself as a key player under the former Nottingham Forest boss, and despite West Ham’s busy winter market business, he will most likely retain his starting spot.

The forward now has goal contributions in each of his last four outings for the Irons, and his form could lead him to North America with the Netherlands this summer.

Crysencio Summerville tipped for World Cup spot

West Ham have shown encouraging signs in their last four matches, picking up three wins, including an FA Cup victory over QPR.

Summerville has been at the heart of all these performances, and could be the saviour in the Hammers’ fight for survival.

According to journalist Suleyman Ozturk, Ronald Koeman may soon provide a “big surprise” for his World Cup team selection.

That surprise could be the inclusion of Summerville in the Netherlands’ squad for their quest for success in North America later this year.

Ozturk said, as quoted by soccernews.nl on Tuesday: “[Summerville] is now getting such a return and high level. I think he’s playing so well at West Ham now.

“That boy has, I think, the ambition to get to the Orange. I think he is in shape just at the right time, so he has a chance to go to the World Cup. He can be the big surprise in the selection that you wouldn’t have expected six months ago.”

The reality West Ham have with Summerville, regardless of relegation

West Ham are still firmly in the fight for survival despite a recent upturn in performances and results.

If the Hammers were relegated, they would almost instantly lose the majority of their top stars, namely Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. But they would lose Summerville, too.

The Hammers are desperate to stay up for multiple reasons, but the debt they would face is one of them.

Even if Nuno was to keep West Ham up, though, there’s a high chance that Summerville could still leave in the summer if he keeps his form up.

The 24-year-old is looking like a world beater right now, and should not be at a side battling against Premier League relegation.
