Crysencio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen send message as surgery confirmed away from West Ham
Crysencio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen have sent a message to Edson Alvarez as the Mexican international recovers from surgery.
The midfielder, who is out on loan at Fenerbahce, has been dealing with an ankle issue since December.
Alvarez has attempted to return to action on multiple occasions but has repeatedly aggravated the injury, forcing him to now solve it with surgery.
The West Ham loanee confirmed the procedure was successful over on his Instagram as he vowed to come back stronger.
Alvarez was met with plenty of support, including from some of his former Hammers teammates, Bowen and Summerville.
West Ham’s captain Bowen simply left a comment with two heart emojis, while Summerville responded by saying “el machin”, translated in English to “the machine”.
Other notable Irons adjacent messages include Guido Rodriguez, who commented: “Let’s go, friend. Getting into that recovery.”
As well as Niclas Fullkrug and Konstantinos Mavropanos, who both left a prayer and a heart emoji in their message.

How could Edson Alvarez’ injury affect West Ham?
While Alvarez is only out on loan at Fenerbahce, the Turkish club does have an option to make the move permanent.
That fee stands at £19.4million, and would also allow the Irons to move the 28-year-old’s wages permanently off their books.
Reports in November did state the Istanbul club were looking to negotiate that fee, and with Alvarez now out for a lengthy period, although the exact timeline is unknown, they could look to resume those talks.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Alvarez is not set to miss the World Cup, so there is a chance he features for Fenerbahce again.
At Fenerbahce, Alvarez has made 17 appearances in all competitions; however, he has also been ruled out of 14 due to issues relating to injuries.
There is a chance that Fenerbahce use this as reasoning in negotiations to suggest a lower fee or even perhaps decide not take up the permanent option.
How can West Ham deal with their own absences?
In terms of the players currently at London Stadium, there are a few who will not feature against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Freddie Potts’ red card means he is out of action; meanwhile, Jean-Clair Todibo is now back from his suspension.
Soungoutou Magassa is the likely man to come into the side to replace Potts.
However, it remains to be seen if Todibo is thrown straight back into the side after Axel Disasi has impressed in his early outings for the Irons.

Unfortunately for Nuno Espirito Santo, winter signing Pablo looks set to join Alvarez on the sidelines for quite a while as well.
Taty Castellanos is now primed for an extended run in the starting line-up, with Callum Wilson surely set for a more prominent role as well.
