Crunch transfer meeting to be held with West Ham United board

Crunch meetings are to be held at West Ham United to determine just how much money will be invested into the club this summer, according to Claret & Hugh on 21 June.

David Moyes is in the midst of strengthening his squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign as he looks to build on the momentum gained in 2021/22.

The Irons had a terrific season, pushing far into all four competitions they were involved in but narrowly missed out on getting their respective jobs done at the business end of the season.

Having already spent £30million on central defender Nayef Aguerd, the Hammers chiefs David Sullivan, Daniel Kretinsky, David Gold and Karren Brady are expected to meet to determine how much more funds will be made readily available for the Scot.

The board hope that any funds pumped into the club by Sullivan and Gold will be complemented by new member Kretinsky via loans or straightforward input.

With no members now holding the majority share in the east London club, votes will take place to make decisions on players – hence the meetings to be held over the summer.

Brilliant.

This is great news for the West Ham fans. The board are coming together and deciding what is best for the club and with a nice balance amongst the chiefs now, the fans will be optimistic.

It will be interesting to see how much Kretinsky is willing to fork over in his first proper transfer window at the club.

That will most likely be determined by the other board members and how much they are willing to sacrifice for the project.

Given the fact that the Irons are in their best form in recent history on the pitch, they need backing off of it too.

Moyes could do something special with this group of players if he can go out and strengthen the squad in the summer.

Especially considering how close they got to the Champions League and trophies last season. Building on this momentum is crucial.
