‘Crazy’ – Harry Redknapp can’t believe what he’s already seen happen at West Ham

West Ham are 19th in the Premier League and could drop to 20th after the seventh game week concludes.

The wait for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s first win as Hammers boss goes on after West Ham lost 2-0 to Arsenal on Saturday evening.

Nuno has a big challenge at West Ham as Graham Potter got the Hammers off to a terrible start in the Premier League.

West Ham’s underwhelming summer window could force them to cut their losses in January as Nuno assesses his squad – but whether he’s still in charge by then remains to be seen.

Harry Redknapp can’t believe Graham Potter was sacked so early by West Ham

Potter was sacked by West Ham in September after a dismal start to the league, showing no signs of improvement from the season prior.

Many fans wanted Potter gone for a long time, but Redknapp sees it differently.

On The Sun’s print edition page 56, Sunday 5 October, Redknapp said: “Premier League managers all know what they sign up for, but some of the sacking and noise so early this season is crazy.

“We have already seen Nuno Espirito Santo sacked by Nottingham Forest and go on to replace Graham Potter after he was axed at West Ham.

“If things stay bad at some clubs and changes are made in January, then no problem. But it is very unfair to be piling the pressure on managers now.”

Though Potter’s sacking was inevitable, pressure was piled on the former Chelsea boss early doors at West Ham, as it always looked like it was going to fail.

With Nuno now in charge, there has been an injection of belief into the Hammers supporters, but will he get the chance to breathe as West Ham boss?

Nuno Espirito Santo may only be give a short amount of time by West Ham

West Ham fought back to draw 1-1 against Everton in Nuno’s first game in charge. The second half in particular showed a drastic improvement from any other performances under Potter, with players battling hard for one another.

After two difficult away games, West Ham are without a win under Nuno, and though fans won’t be too worried, the owners will certainly be monitoring results.

David Sullivan and co. have been scrambling around for a successful manager since the bizarre sacking of David Moyes, and it would be no surprise if Nuno wasn’t given the time or tools to succeed as West Ham boss.
