‘Could suit them’ – Charlie Nicholas predicts scoreline for West Ham clash v Wolves
Charlie Nicholas has backed West Ham United to pick up a point when they welcome Wolves to the London Stadium on Saturday.
The Sky Sports pundit claimed that the game being played behind-closed-doors could benefit the Hammers, as they won’t feel the same amount of pressure from fans usually at the ground.
David Moyes will be keen to avenge the 2-0 defeat at Molineux earlier in the season, where Wolves put an end to a decent little run from the Irons.
Nicholas admitted it would be a great point for West Ham, as it could kick them into two tough games against Spurs and Chelsea.
“This is a great game,” he wrote on Sky Sports.
“I am keen to watch this, as Wolves have been my dark horse for the top four in the way that their fixtures will run. West Ham will be awkward, but the freshness will suit both of them.
“With no home advantage, it could suit them and the fans will not be on their case, so it could help them. This would be a very good point for West Ham.”
The threat of the likes of Raul Jiminez and Adama Traore has been mentioned by many, but the Irons seemed to deal with them well enough in the reverse fixture.
Looking back, Wolves didn’t dominate too much, West Ham just lacked that cutting edge in the final third and struggled to make chances.
Moyes’ men kept more possession in the game and managed complete more accurate passes according to WhoScored – something which proves they must improve in the final third if they want a result on Saturday.
