Connor Coventry leaves West Ham for MK Dons on loan
West Ham United midfielder Connor Coventry has taken the next step in his career by heading out on loan to League One Milton Keynes Dons.
The 21-year-old has spent the first half of this season at Championship strugglers Peterborough United but he couldn’t hold down a regular starting place at London Road.
He was recalled by the Hammers earlier in January and now has the chance to springboard his footballing career in the third tier.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international reacted to the deal on Twitter saying: “Great to be here. Looking forward to the weekend.”
Promotion chance
MK Dons are currently in the middle of a mammoth playoff battle in League One and Coventry hopes he can be the one to tip the scales in the Dons’ favour.
Liam Manning, MK Dons manager, hopes the same as a promotion on his CV could do wonders for the Hammers youngster.

Coventry will be doing everything he can to help get the Dons promoted back to the Championship to show David Moyes he is capable of bringing something to the table at the London Stadium.
His form in the Premier League 2, a league for Under-23 teams, has been as good as anyone’s in the competition with the Hammers top of the league.
He has scored twice in the three games he has played and he will hope that he can carry over that confidence into his new team.
In other West Ham news, Reports have shared an update on this Hammers-linked striker who scored a hat-trick at the weekend.
