Claret and Hugh: David Moyes West Ham United job is 100% safe

David Moyes’ position as West Ham United manager is 100 per cent safe despite his side’s poor start to the Premier League season, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers currently languish in the relegation zone with just three goals this season and one win from their first seven matches.

Despite the poor start Claret and Hugh have revealed (20 September) that Moyes’ job is not under threat and the club views the Scot as the best person to turn their fortunes around.

Has earned time

The West Ham boss came under criticism after his side’s defeat at Goodison Park with Sky Sports pundit Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink suggesting on Super Sunday (18 September) that he made too many changes to his side.

However, Moyes’ achievements at the London Stadium mean that he is due some patience from the board regarding his future.

In the modern game, managers are chopped and changed far too often, which can lead to long-term decline. The Hammers have shown faith in Moyes previously when the pressure is on and he deserves the chance to be given time now.

The number of new players that have joined the club over the summer also means relationships within the squad will need to develop and grow. Once the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca get used to how each other play we will start to see the results flow.

Sunday’s defeat to Everton was a disappointing day for Moyes and the Scot will be hoping to use the international break to take the pressure off him slightly and work out what is going wrong at the moment.

The Hammers face Wolves, Fulham and Southampton in their next three matches, where nothing less than seven points will be acceptable for Moyes.
