Chris Sutton stuck in dilemma for West Ham vs Bournemouth prediction – ‘What on earth’
Chris Sutton has predicted that Bournemouth will beat West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.
West Ham have not lost in their last nine meetings with Bournemouth, however, and will be confident that they can extend that run.
The Hammers have recovered following an appalling start to the season, winning consecutive Premier League games before the international break.
West Ham beat Burnley 3-2 at the London Stadium last time out, and will hope to pick up where they left off on 22 November.
Bournemouth are heavy favourites to beat West Ham, however, with the Cherries enjoying a stronger start to the campaign.

Chris Sutton makes prediction amid ‘blip’ verdict
Nuno Espirito Santo has never beaten Andoni Iraola, with the pair set to face off for the fifth time on Saturday.
West Ham undoubtedly come into the game in stronger form; however, with Bournemouth losing their last two games.
| Bournemouth | Premier League 2025-26 | West Ham |
| 18 | Points | 10 |
| 17 | Goals scored | 13 |
| 18 | Goals conceded | 23 |
| 13.4 | Expected goals (xG) | 12.4 |
| 15.1 | Expected goals against (xGA) | 16.8 |
Against Aston Villa last time out, the Cherries were thumped 4-0, with Donyell Malen putting the seal on a dismal day for Iraola’s side.
Sutton believes that loss was merely a “blip”, however, and has predicted that Bournemouth will bounce back against the Hammers.
“The Hammers’ only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager,” Sutton told BBC Sport on Thursday.
“So, what on earth do I go with here – will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
“I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.” The former Chelsea striker predicts a 2-0 victory for the Cherries, while Olly Murs had a different opinion.
“Bournemouth are doing well, but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2,” predicted the singer.
Nuno Espirito Santo hoping to continue building momentum
Nuno likely would have been fearing the worst after West Ham fell to defeat against Leeds United.
The Hammers had failed to win any of the four games since the Portuguese boss had replaced Graham Potter, losing three.
But wins against Newcastle United and Burnley were incredibly positive, and provided fresh confidence ahead of what will be a difficult run of fixtures.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game, Nuno said: “The hard work continues, and the good results we achieved are in the past now.
“We’re still working to improve, and to be able to sustain our performance for longer periods, and that’s what we’ll be hoping to do on Saturday.”
