Chris Sutton shares ‘totally pragmatic’ David Moyes verdict at West Ham United live on BBC
Chris Sutton has suggested that other Premier League clubs can beat Brighton this season after West Ham defeated the Seagulls.
The Hammers overcame Roberto De Zerbi’s side 3-1 in their encounter last month thanks to goals from James Ward-Prowse, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio.
The south coast outfit currently sit fifth in the league table, with their only defeat this season coming against West Ham.
Discussing the idea that teams can overcome the Seagulls this season, Sutton said live on The Monday Night Club on 5 Live Sport (18 September): “This isn’t disrespectful, but if West Ham can beat Brighton…
“How did they do it? By David Moyes just being totally pragmatic.”

West Ham have been in superb form in the early stages of the new league campaign, much to the surprise of many onlookers.
David Moyes’s side began proceedings with a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth, before picking up 3-1 victories against both Chelsea and Brighton.
They then overcame Luton Town 2-1 before losing their first game of the new campaign with a 3-1 home defeat to Manchester City on Saturday (16 September).
The fine start leaves the East London club sitting sixth in the Premier League table, just two points behind Brighton, who have been very impressive in recent times.
De Zerbi’s outfit eased past Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, leaving Manchester with all three points thanks to their 3-1 win.
Many had them down for an easy win against the Hammers earlier in the season, but a superb tactical display from Moyes at the Amex ensured that wasn’t the case.
In other West Ham news, a journalist has shared a “difficult match” verdict on one isolated Hammers man in the club’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.
