Chris Sutton predicts West Ham United clash v Leicester City for BBC

West Ham United will share the spoils in a tight affair against Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend, according to Chris Sutton.

The Hammers, who come into the game on the back of consecutive defeats to Crystal Palace and Blackburn Rovers, will look to take three points in their last game before the World Cup winter break.

But according to Sutton, who was making his Premier League predictions for the BBC Sport website, David Moyes’ side will have to be at their best to take anything away from the game.

He said: “Leicester are really on the up and are definitely one of the teams who don’t want this season to stop.

“The Foxes just look a lot more certain at the back and Harvey Barnes is playing well, along with James Maddison of course.

“This should be a close game – West Ham still haven’t quite clicked, but they remain a very well-organised team and I’d be surprised if they lost at home again after their defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend.”

Cagey match awaits

For David Moyes, Saturday’s match against Leicester is one final chance to climb the table before a much-needed six-week break in which he can re-assess and relax after a recently manic schedule.

With the pressure on, Moyes will know that a quick start is required to silence any calls for his sacking, as although he is not in any imminent danger, there are rumblings of discontent within the fanbase.

For this reason, the match is likely to be a cagey affair with so much on the line for Moyes. A pragmatic style of play could also be the best way to halt a James Maddison-inspired Leicester side, who arrive on the back of four wins in their last five games.

A draw is probably the correct prediction by Sutton, but don’t rule out the depth of West Ham’s squad and the potentially match-defining impact they could have on this game in the latter stages.
