Chris Sutton predicts outcome of West Ham United clash v Bournemouth
West Ham will face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday night (24 October) where they will be looking to bounce back to winning ways.
Chris Sutton has predicted on BBC Sport that the Hammers will manage a 2-1 win and feels they were really unlucky to lose against Liverpool at Anfield.
The Cherries suffered a 1-0 defeat against Southampton in their previous game and as a result, it ended an unbeaten run under Gary O’Neil.
“Massive apologies to Bournemouth fans. I knew as soon as I finally predicted they would win, against Southampton on Wednesday, that their unbeaten run under Gary O’Neil would soon be over,” wrote Sutton for BBC Sport.
“All I can say is that it won’t happen again. Well, I certainly won’t tip them to beat West Ham anyway.
“The Hammers were really unlucky not to get anything at Anfield on Wednesday and, that game aside, they have been in pretty decent form.”
Sutton is spot on here. The Hammers played really well against Liverpool and they deserved at least a point.
However, that’s part of the game. Jarrod Bowen on another day would have easily scored from the spot, while Tomas Soucek probably would have hit the target from that range as well.
They have now failed to win in their back-to-back league games, and this has become a must-win game. At home, you should look to pick up all three points.
Moyes should be concentrating more on the system. The injury to Luca Paqueta could open the door for Flynn Downes to have a run in the side. He has been superb so far and impressed at Anfield.
However, Moyes needs to get the balance of the team right. Should Michail Antonio play alongside Gianluca Scamacca? How Moyes can get the best out of Pablo Fornals? Should Said Benrahma start after two brilliant cameo performances?
The Hammers usually are solid at home, and they should be able to pick up a win.
